Our Journey with Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs

At Runamuck, our passion lies in raising healthy, well-socialized Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs with sound temperaments and strong pedigrees. What started as a love for animals has grown into a commitment to preserving and promoting this majestic breed.

Our home is full of life, laughter, and the sound of paws on the floor. As a mother of six energetic and animal-loving children, socialization comes naturally to our puppies. From birth, they are handled, loved, and raised in a family environment where they become confident, curious, and connected.

My journey with animals began in childhood, where I was surrounded by many different species that sparked a lifelong appreciation for caring and nurturing living creatures. That early experience laid the foundation for the dedication I now bring to every Swissy we raise.

Whether you're looking for a loyal companion or a potential show dog, we strive to produce puppies that are not only beautiful and strong, but also deeply connected to people — because here, every Swissy is raised with love, integrity, and purpose.

Raising Swissies with Heart and Home

We welcomed our first Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Rogue (Ro), in 2013 after a year-long wait. Ro quickly became our son’s therapy dog and sparked a deep love for the breed with her size, temperament, and gentle nature.

Wanting to expand our Swissy family (because let’s face it—you can’t have just one!), we brought home Tasha from a top breeder in Russia in 2016. She’s high-energy, eager to please, and has earned her Trick Dog (TKN) and Canine Good Citizen (CGCA) titles. She’s also been a wonderful 4H partner for our daughter and a fantastic mom.

From Tasha’s first litter, we kept Sage, and from her first litter we kept Tula, and Tula’s first litter we kept Zina, and we just keep improving on our lineage through out the years. We are dedicated to improving the breed structurally, producing sound temperament family members, and providing support for our puppy’s homes to maintain their health and training for well rounded family members.

At Runamuck Farm, animals aren’t just a hobby—they’re our way of life. Swissie’s help us to continue to learn, grow, and living the country life to the fullest.
